I am not relying on the Braille Note as a sole substitute for a computer, in fact, I spend about 99% of my day on the computer, but I would like to be able to transfer documents from work, especially newsletters, memos and training material to the Braille Note because often I learn better when it is under my fingers. It is like my coworkers being able to print out the document and keep it for future reference and look at it when necessary. Sure I can read it with Jaws, but having it under my fingers is the same as so many people I know who have to actually see it to understand it.

It's my opinion that the BN is not to be used as a computer substitute. I don't know many sighted people who rely solely on their PDA's without possessing a laptop or other PC as well. The BN is a great machine, but it's not a computer and therefore cannot be expected to behave as one. I am aware that other PDA's for the blind have slightly more improved Word and HTML support compared to the BN, and I am disappointed as well that this wasn't addressed in the coming upgrade. but at the same time, there are still limitations to everything, because again, there is no substitute for a computer, which can be purchased for about a third of the price of the BN, screen readers included. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, please remember that the BN is wonderful, but not a computer. As a college student, I rely on both pieces of equipment equally. Just something to think about!
