Hello listers,
I have been frustrated by difficulties in using the remote
control unit for our heating system. So (strangely) I have come
up with a suggestion for Keysoft 9.0 that would solve this, and
several other remote control based problems. I would love to
hear your comments on my idea!
Keymote would be an application that could turn BrailleNote into
any number of virtual remote control units.
You would be able to teach Keymote how to emulate the remote
controls for your TV, CD player, heating system and other
appliances.
Having an application like Keymote would allow you to remotely
control an appliance with all functions being readily identified
by voice or braille prompts.
If, for example, you wanted to play a CD, you would simply:
select the Keymote application from BrailleNote's "main menu",
choose "CD player" from the Keymote menu, point KeyNote's
infrared port toward the CD player, select "play" from the "CD
player" command menu and press "enter".
To build a virtual remote control for a device, say a CD player,
you would name it, "CD player" then, when prompted, enter:
1 a name for a function: "play", "stop", "volume up", "options
menu" and so on.
2 identify the associated operation type as: "command" or "menu"
3 point the teaching remote at KeyNote's infrared port and press
the appropriate button on the teaching remote so Keymote could
capture it.
You would then reapeat steps 1 to 3 until you had nameed and
taught Keymote all the necessary commands for you to operate your
CD player.
Imagine being able to share Keymote virtual remote controls. I
am sure Keymote users would contribute to a web based Keymote
library.
Just a dream.
Hoping to hear from you,
Dave.
