What really needs to happen, IMO, is the software development kit. All these ideas folks are suggesting (most of which are not new ideas--they're just not yet included on the BrailleNote) would require the development of a whole new application. Whether it's an HTML browser interface for the Email client, a custom Microsoft Word converter, or a remote control application, many hours of development and testing would be required. We've seen how long it took for Humanware to develop a chat client that won't even support MSN and Yahoo and some more supported formats for KeyBook; it took over a year. So I think the future of the BrailleNote family of products is dependent on an SDK.
I should say that I believe the BrailleNote has many excellent qualities--both hardware and software ones--that are unrivaled by any other notetaker that I have used, which is while I'll be sticking to my beloved mPower for the time being. But, Humanware, it's time to get serious! Introduce an SDK, and hundreds of applications in KeySoft's familiar intuitive style will be just around the corner. Neglect the SDK, and the BrailleNote may soon fall by the wayside.
