Actually you have to use computer braille in text documents, even
if you use ueb. You can type web addresses into keyweb with ueb,
but, if you have ueb as your default, directory prompts are
turned into grade 1, but folder prompts remain ueb. It took me a
while to figure this out because, when the bn asks for a
directory, it does not say "grade 1 is required" as it should.
Have a great day,
Alex

Subject: Re: [Braillenote] Braille Keyboard
The BrailleNote has always shone in the area of Braille support.
On
the BT, you can select to use either computer braille, grade 1,
or
grade 2, almost wherever you are. For example, when entering
appointments into the planner, composing an Email, or writing a
document, you could choose to use grade 2 Braille.
There are only a couple of areas (like entering web addresses)
where
the BrailleNote overrides your preferred Braille grade and forces
computer Braille, but that's understandable.
As well, if you use Unified English Braille, I don't think
computer
braille is ever forced.
The keyboard on the BT, including the spacebar, is, in my
opinion,
outstanding. It surpasses any equivalent keyboards I have ever
used
on any other notetakers, and is one of the reasons I'm happy to
stick
to a BrailleNote for now.
Cheers,
Grant

Hello everyone,
I am thinking of changing from a QT to a BT for my MPower. I
was wondering
when you type in a Word document using the BT, can you type in
grade 2
Braille? Also, what grade do you type in when you send email
using the BT?
The spacebar on my QT is horrible. I have to make a conscious
effort to
really type in the centre, otherwise the space bar wouldn't
move. Does
anyone with a QT have the same problem? A Humanware tech
suggested it may be
because my machine is old.
So I am debating whether to have them fixed the spacebar or
swapping from a
QT to a BT.
I would really love to hear any suggestions that anyone might
have.
Cheers,
Quyn
