I think you'll find that we all have a preference to which
keyboard we use. I for one type faster on a qt keyboard then a
bt keyboard. I also like if I am writing a word document and I
want to write it in braile the home row keys turn into a bt style
keyboard.

I have always had a bt; I am a lot faster at braille than at
print, despite having used a qt keyboard for my pc for many
years; I have just always felt more comfortable with braille, I
don't know why.
Have a great day,
Alex

Alex,
Thanks very much for answering my questions. Do you have a QT or
a BT?
Cheers,
Quyn

You must use computer braille in a Word file, or any file that
is
not keyword braille or .brf.
Emails are viewed in computer braille, but you can write in
grade
2 if that is your default.
My spacebar is okay, but this is my second machine; my first
mpower's spacebar kept leaning to one side and would get stuck,
making the machine unusable. I sent it in three times, and once
they even replaced the keybodar, and when I got it back and
still
had that same spacebar problem they finally replaced the entire
braillenote with a new one. Now, though, my spacebar is not as
responsive, and if I hit on the right side (I always use my
right
thumb) it usually, though not always, registers. The center is
better, but my thumb just does not rest there so I cannot hit it
there. This is just my experience; I have not heard of anyone
else having these problems, except a couple people who had the
sticking spacebar issue, but they seem to have gotten it fixed.
Have a great day,
Alex

Hello everyone,
I am thinking of changing from a QT to a BT for my MPower. I was
wondering when you type in a Word document using the BT, can you
type in grade 2 Braille? Also, what grade do you type in when
you
send email using the BT?
The spacebar on my QT is horrible. I have to make a conscious
effort to really type in the centre, otherwise the space bar
wouldn't move. Does anyone with a QT have the same problem? A
Humanware tech suggested it may be because my machine is old.
So I am debating whether to have them fixed the spacebar or
swapping from a QT to a BT.
I would really love to hear any suggestions that anyone might
have.
Cheers,
Quyn
