Hi all, when you first subscribe to this list, and you get that really long info message, doesn't it say that Humanware, from time to time will help people answer their questions? Yes, I believe it does.
HUMANWARE should either start answering are questions when we need them, or they should just delete that line out of the document.
Paul

Hello Bob, Alex, and List: Alex, you are right about the Gw list. I can tell you that language seen in one post would not be tolerated. It's hard to believe what we've come to. It's hard to believe what frustration makes people say. Yes, a product can always be better. I believe Humanware should respond. However, some things like compact flash cards not being recognized is not a Humanware fault, nor is it Humanware's fault when a card falls in the machine. I do wish Humanware would respond to questions. It would be really helpful. Thanks Bob for your post.
Blessings Rhonda Stogner [email protected]

You make very good points. I will say, though, that the listused to be better, but so did thecompany. In the last coupleyears they have gotten worse and worse, giving us more and moreto complain about. As to other lists, Iam on two (Sendero's gpslist, which does not really count inthis context, and the GWMicro Notetaker list). On the secondlist, I see mostlyquestions and the occasionalannouncement from the company.Surprisingly, one or two people from GWMitself regularly answerquestions about the device, and anytimea feature is suggested, acompany rep responds with "this has beenadded to our database"or "we already have this done for thefuture". More often thannot, I see the features suggested addedin the next softwareupgrade, which, by the way, is releasedas a public beta so thatthose who want to can try it ahead oftime and make it much lessbuggy for the final release. It is thesame for Sendero's list;the company employees, even the founderhimself, regularly postand respond, and traffic is mostlyquestions and feedback. Iusually agree that the grass is nogreener anywhere else, but Ihave to say that this time I think itjust may be. People willsay, or at least think, "so why don'tyou put your money whereyour mouth is and switch to gwm?" Iwould, if I had any of thatmoney with which to stuff my face, but Ido not and am thereforestill using my bn. I do not think thatthe bn is bad, but it isfurthest behind other notetakers and, from what I have seen, ismade by a company with the leastcompany/user interaction of anyof the major assistive tech companies.
Have a great day, Alex

Hi, folks: I've been on this list againfor a month or two, andhave mostly been, as the cb'ers used tosay, "copying the mail."That means, I've been mostly reading theposts. The predominant theme of these posts hasbeen frustration:frustration with lack of news about thenew upgrade; frustrationwith the lack of response to complaintsby HW; frustration withthe lack of useful features, as opposedto what might be calledfrivolities; frustration that thefrivolities are the wrong ones!Frustration, frustration, frustration. Now I'm not saying thatthis frustration might not be justified;what I am saying, however, is that we're now on the thirdor fourth time around forthese same complaints. When my wife, Dorie, and I bought ourM-power, I got back on thelist, because I figured I could learnsomething. This list usedto be a wonderful source for informationabout how to really workthe BN. However, this list is nothingmore than a source forgrousing and griping, with someoccasional good questions thrownin. (Frankly, I'm kind of surprisedthat the folks who dare toask good questions aren't severelyreprimanded, and told to getwith the program, and complain likeeveryone else, or face theconsequences.
The BN is far from perfect; that's forsure. But, I have towonder: if I subscribed to anothercompany's list, is it notpossible that I might hear complaintsthere, too? We alwaysimagine that the grass is greener, onthe other side of thefence. Usually, though, it's notgreener; just different. The new upgrade will be out soon. Maybeit will be terrible, andmaybe it won't. The fact is that, whether you like it or not, you'll probably buy it, because, if youdon't do that, you won'tbe able to buy the next upgrade, whichmay have everything youever wanted on it.
I think we all need to stop and take adeep breath. We need tothink about whether messages we post arereally adding any goodinfo, or just re-hashing the same oldstuff. I also must saythat I hope that the use of vulgarlanguage won't become morethan a one-time thing. We can hear thaton the street. We don'tneed to have it in our inboxes. Well, I think this novela is over.Thank you for yourindulgence. Let's try to get back tobeing a list, where goodinfo is exchanged. Blessings, Bob
