I've never had any trouble with my cf slot. I take the cards out when I
want to transfer stuff from the card to my PC. I leave them in the slot the
rest of the time. Some folks have said they always take them out before
resetting the unit because they have lost data when they left them in during
a reset. This has never happened to me, either. But I try to remember to
take the cf cards out if I do a hard rest or a service reset.
