Hi, 16 GB is enough. As for data flow between devices, this is the main reason why I don't really want to mention USB hubs with BrailleNote. Well, a USB port can support up to about 127 devices in a daisy chain fashion (including hubs) at once, so.... As for storing backups, I personally would like to recommend thumb drives due to reliability and ease of transfer between a BrailleNote and a computer. From now on, I plan to use CF for archival and backup purposes (if I do get Apex; I'm using CF on my mPower as main storage area except schoolwork, which I store on the Flash). Cheers, Joseph

On the slim chance that your bn crashes to the point of no return, you have no way of retrieving you data. As long as you did backups often enough, I guess you would not have to worry. Plus, the one time that I thought my bn was dead, it resurrected itself several hours later. Second, although I have not tested it, I assume, as connections go, that the more wiring and equipment through which data has to flow, the slower the connection. In other words, I believe that connecting a USB drive directly to the bn might be faster than connecting a card reader to the bn then putting a card into the bn. Also, it's more parts that could fail at any time. Or perhaps I'm just too careful and too impatient. And I must agree that being able to leave something like an sd card in the bn is nice in comparison to having to unplug everything. Okay, maybe that was more than two...anyways, have a nice day. However, I cannot stress this point enough: the Apex has 8gb of internal storage, enough for hundreds of songs or tens of GPS maps with no need for a cf card at all.
