Alex the only part of my case with velcro are the two straps that
cover the the host mini USB client and the on off switch, head
phone/microphone jacks and the record button. Sounds like they
did make a different case. The one I have holds the bn firmly
in place.

I think mine is similar. However, there are four small straps on

back, and the right-most is velcro. I hear that on the new cases,

strap is not velcro, so the bn cannot pust down on it and lose

Alex what kind of case do you have? I am not sure I see how the
bn could fall out of the case unless i have a different one from
yours. Mine is designed like this. Starting from the back of
the apex, I have the unit securely in place where the snaps used
to be on an MPower. On the right of the 3 USB ports is another
part of the case holding the bn in place. There are two more
pieces they aren't snaps but I am not sure how to describe them.
Frankly though I am not even sure how my bn can come out of the
case unless I try and remove it from where the braille display
is
located. I do like the magnets but they do not stay fastened as
well as the velcro did. Sorry for the bad description of the
case.

Rick, when did you get your Apex? As I understand it, hw

cases sometime recently, so you may have one of the "new-style"
cases.
As to carrying a battery around: I am surprised that one even
