Hi All,
Same here. From the back of the case, there are 4 straps that
run vertigly to keep the bn secure. Along the left side there is
the velcrow flap with a strap above it. On the right there is
the adapter flap and down from that, there is a normal part of
the case. On the bottom, there are three straps. I hope this
helps as a further discription of the apex case. I think it's
better than the MPower's case.
Cheers,
Olivia

I only looked at an Apex and its case briefly, but, although the
magnets may
not stay as well as the velcro, the shape of the case and the
pocket seemed
to be much better than that of the MPower case. The MPower case
and pocket
is such that, any time that I put anything in the pocket, the
flap will not
stay shut over the BrailleNote.

i have changed the subject line to reflect talking about the apex
case and
not the battery.
Alex what kind of case do you have? I am not sure I see how the
bn could
fall out of the case unless i have a different one from yours.
Mine is
designed like this. Starting from the back of the apex, I have
the unit
securely in place where the snaps used to be on an MPower. On
the right
of the 3 USB ports is another part of the case holding the bn in
place.
There are two more pieces they aren't snaps but I am not sure
how to
describe them. Frankly though I am not even sure how my bn can
come out
of the case unless I try and remove it from where the braille
display is
located. I do like the magnets but they do not stay fastened as
well as
the velcro did. Sorry for the bad description of the case.

Rick, when did you get your Apex? As I understand it, hw
switched
cases sometime recently, so you may have one of the "new-style"
cases.
As to carrying a battery around: I am surprised that one even
fit in
the case with the case still able to close!

I find that the strap on the left side holds the unit securely

I was surprised to hear of one user's undoubtedly awful
experience of the
BN
falling twice on the sidewalk.
That lefthand piece seems pretty sturdy to me, as well as the
rest of the
case. I did expect to have problems with the magnets, but
fortunately I
haven't so far.
I'm not trying to make light of anyone's experiences, but I _am_
trying to
understand how some of these mishaps occur.
