I have not been following the thread, but maybe you want to check the
adapter where the two pieces come together? Sometimes, the cord can be
disconnected from the box enough to cause the adapter to stop working,
but not enough to cause the two pieces to separate, so it looks and
feels normal but is not tight enough.
