Hi,
Sorry if you are getting this message twice...
In order to go to Internet with an iPhone, you need a data plan (supporting tethering) throughAT&T and Verizon. Windows CE and Windows Mobile are not the same. Think of Windows CE as the backbone that provides essential services to get your unit going, and Windows Mobile as just a way of interacting with the PDA. For your benefit, I'll post the URL where questions like these can be found:

Oh, that helps A lot.

Now if I can link up a I phone for the internet that would be cool.

I thought windows C was windows Mobel as well. Oh well. I was hopeing to be able to install programs I used back then on the pac mate on the unit.

I am guessing I could still install the GPS package on this as well.

Thanks

Matt

Yeah I got it set in advance mode.

Hi,
Let's examine it one at a time:
* KeyChat and weird symbols: Don't worry about those. These symbols represent who sent a particular message. The "for sign, o" means someone - person you are talking to - wrote the message, and "for sign, ow" means that you wrote that message. * KeySoft in general: No, mPower does not run Windows Mobile. You might be talking about Windows CE, which is quite distinct from Windows Mobile. There are two operational modes of the DBC (Deaf-Blind Communicator): A. DBC Basic (DBCB): This is the default mode where most of KeySoft will not be availible - only KeyChat functionality will be there. B. DBC Advanced (DBCA): This is where all functionality of KeySoft will be availible - think of it as using KeySoft with added Dfunctionality. To swithitch between these two (DCB units only): from Main Menu, go to Utilities, then select Key Management. After this, go to Enter a new Product Key. At the "product key" prompt, type either "dbca" (Advanced mode) or "dbcb" (DBC Basic mode) then press ENTER. As for mp3 files, it could be the fact that they are audio files, something wrong with the file format or hardware thing. To see that you are indeed playing an mp3 file, while you "5k" the file is playing, press BACKSPACE with ENTER with M. * Marking text: You can in fact mark start of text selection without having to go to Bleck Commands Menu. If you found the location where you wish to start text selection (either forward or back), press BACKSPACE with M (CTRL with Shift with M). Then go to the end of your text selection, put the cursor one character after the end of this block then do copying, cutting, etc. via Block Commands (SPACE with B). * Databases: You need to put the unit in DBC Advanced mode to do this. From Main Menu, go to Database Manager (D). KeySoft asks, "Database to use?" Type the name of a new database and press ENTER. Then KeyBase, the database management program, will step you through creating the data field and what type of field it should be - string (a collection of characters), yes or no, number, etc.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] Some Question Reguarding M Power Model and DBC.

Hello.

I still waiting for my DBC to get here. However, during the mean time I am being shown how all the other things it can do.

Well, one thing I seeing that I don't like on the DBC is the way it shows each message being shown with weird tags, such as FOR Sign O and For sign OW, and so forth. What does this mean? I've seen even FOR Sign P and ED.This just seems odd.

On the Keysoftside.I noticed that the current Keysoft 8.0 for the M power don't even play MP3 files. Why is this? I thought this was a windows Mobile 4.5 version. Just seemed odd, unless it was something I did wrong.

Also, in word, I can not figure out how to select the text I want to copy, I found where you copy the block text, but yet, I can not seemed to find anywhere in the help on how to place the blocks to select the text.

Also, is there any way of creating a database that I can use, since I am going into BEP here soon, I need to make my own database that design around what I need, as well, I could not find anything on what kind of Database file that can be imported into it as well. Since I would be useing Excel, I figured this would be something close to a spreadsheet file.

Also, can I make a internet connection between my I phone as a modem with blue tooth or will it work with the USB as a modem? Since I have tethering?

Can any one give me any product that will work in the PCMIA slot as a wireless?

Thanks for any help.

Matthew
