It has to be a fairly small SD card, less than 500 MB, or at least it did for the M-Power.

If the file didn't download successfully in the first place, then maybe that's your problem. Also, did you successfully retrieve and install a license first? I don't know what the Apex does if you try to install the upgrade without the license already in place. Maybe it gives you a failure notice. I guess the only other thought that occurs to me is that perhaps you need plenty of space on your drive if the Apex uncompresses stuff into a Temp directory right on the drive. That wouldn't seem like the problem, though, if you've used multiple media and had it bomb each time.
