A bounce, as I understand it, is when you send a message to this list along with other addresses, and one of those other addresses is invalid. This can cause a bounce (an email detailing the failure of that bad address) to be sent to the list. Your email address is penalized for each such bounce, and you are sent this notice after you get six such bounces.
