Hi Linda,
No, you do not have to do the grade change thing in Keylist
(backspace J for computer braille and then backspace B for grade
2. KeyList does this automatically. Meaning it has you write in
computer braille. Not sure about the Italics sign thing, but I
know that doublecaps are translated as all capital letters in
print. For computer braille, if you have 8-dot braille enabled,
pressing dot 7 with a letter will capitalize it. If not, press
space with U to capitalize a word, or twice quickly for all caps.
Press this same command again to turn caps off.

Hi Josh,
When you are adding email addresses to the address book of the
Braille Note, do you also have to do backspace-j before the
address, then backspace-b at the end?
Also, when writing on the braille note, how is the italics sign
translated when it goes into print email? And the double caps
sign?
If there are computer ways to write these signs, I don't know
them.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Linda

Jack, I can answer both. To tell KS to not translate something
like an email into grade 2, press backspace with J to tell ks to
go into computer braille. Then, type the address and press
backspace with B to go back to grade 2. If you are using 8 dot
computer braille, you will need to press the space bar along with
these commands. As to the second question, yes, it works well.
You can record at the max level, (from my experience, anyway) and
it sounds ten times better than the internal mic.

Subject: [Braillenote] Two questions
Good Day Friends
Hope you are all well.
As the subject line says two questions.
First off, How do you tell braille note NOT to translate
something. I have an mpower bt32. It's running DBC 1.06 if that
matters. So let's say your brailleing happily along in grade two
and want to insert an email address and or web address is there a
command to tell braille note NOT to translate this when it
translates the rest of the grade two file? Such as an email one
has written? Since a colon in grade two is which and a slash is
still.
Hope I made that clear enough?
My second query concerns the external mike Jack. Can one, if one
is VERY CAREFUL about levels and the like, record from an
external sound source using the mike Jack in the side?? has
anyone done this and how well does it work if at all?
Many thanks for any help.
All The Best
Jack
