Well, whoever is responsigle just needs to fix it... it's very annoying!!!! I like using 8 dot braille when I'm on the internet or working in word documents and switching between 6 and 8 dot mode on the apex is cumbersone...

I think that is something Humanware can fix, though. As I see it,
keysoft is intercepting everything before passing it onto the iPhone,
which is how you can hit space-e to close terminal or, in your case,
hit an 8 dot character and have keysoft get it first. Since it works
when 8 dot is disabled on the apex but not when it is enabled, I have
to blame hw fully and say that apple is not at fault here. I have
emailed hw about this and have so far not heard that it is anything
apple-related, so I am sticking with my assumption for the moment.

That's good. I really wanted to go to the presentation last night to mention this if it didn't come up but had another commitment and didn't get back in
time... Glad to hear they're still working on these issues.

Hi,
That's something that Greg mentioned too - that VoiceOver assumes you are
using 6 dot when in fact all eight dots are supported. Greg also said
that HW and Apple are still communicating on supporting full QT support
and to implement 8 dot support.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi All,

It seems if the apex keyboard is set to 6 dot braille, and the iphone has 8 dot braille on, the dot 7 key on the apex works as a shift key allowing computer braille to be used... The pass through command 4 5 6 enter works

perfectly fine in 6 dot braille... Make using computer braille easier
anyway, but it means I'll have to remember to change the keyboard settings

back when I want 8 dot braille on the apex...

Annoying!
