You really should have HW service it. if you just got a store bought
adaptor it may have done damage

Subject: [Braillenote] need help ASAP, problem with battery
I've had my unit for about 5 years now and am having problems with the
battery. A few months ago I believe I posted about an adapter problem. I
seem to have the same problem now, but this is a fairly new adapter, I got
it when the original one broke. We went to Radio Shack and bought me one
which is the one I've been using. I plugged it into three different
outlets,
and stil can't get the unit to start charging. Could this be the end of my
BN or do I just need a new adapter? With the last one it was pretty
obvious
that I needed a new adapter because when you shook the old one it had a
rattle in it, but not so with this one. Any advice?
