Hi Carol,
These are not general Braille symbols; they are Braille symbols
which are used to indicate certain things on the BrailleNote.
Here is a list of the signs you mentioned and what they mean:
* ED contraction plus P, edp: new line
ED contraction plus f, edf: new page (like in a book being read
on the Braille display using Keyword or the book reader)
ED contraction plus p and f, edpf: another symbol for new line
(I'm not sure why edp and edpf are used interchangeably, but they
both mean the same thing.)
