To be fair, there was one more feature in Keysoft 9.2: enhanced
information given to the user while downloading a file from the
Internet. But still, Humanware is playing a big trick on us
users! They're making their money, which is what all for-profit
businesses are there to do, but they're doing it at a huge
disservice to their customers. How do we get this across to
them, I don't know; this list doesn't seem to work.

Indeed you do. That said, let us not forget that they pulled the
same
trick with apex users: 9.2, a paid upgrade, had two features: the
pdf
translator and the braille mode for qt users in terminal, which
was
not a new feature at all but rather a bug fix (if I understand it
right).
I believe you can edit the registry; just follow the same steps.
If
the registry viewer program gives you a registry, then go for it,
otherwise it will not be supported. Note that you must set up a
partnership for this to work. As always, please be careful when
modifying the registry, and no one except you is responsible for
anything that may go wrong.

First, it seems we mPower users have just cause for being
utterly furious
with this new 8.1 upgrade. I can't believe they're going to
make us pay for
nothing more than indirect access to the contents of pdf files,
and a change
in the name of a
menu option! That's just wrong!
Also notice there's absolutely no mention of the fact that
they outright
forced us to use eloquence speech in the book reader. From the
release
notes, this hasn't been rectified, and neither has the need to
use that same
synthesizer in order to be
able to hear the majority of changed sound files after a reset.
Anyway, can the registry be messed with on an mPower? That
changing of the
cookies and temp files location thing sounds very useful, but
not if I can't
do it on this bn of mine. I also hate having to redo my log ins
after a
hard reset.
