There are several methods of identifying one BrailleNote model
to the next, and certaintly there are differences in each of the
models.
The most recognizable difference between a BrailleNote Classic
and mPower is the presence of parallel port on the Classic versus
USB ports on the mPower. Also, the mPower has SD card slot.
The easiest way to identify between a Classic, mPower and Apex
is that the Apex is lighter and no presence of CF slot. On the
braille keyboard models, the Apex can be distinguished by the
presence of the Scroll Wheel at the center of the top surface
(between DOT 1 and 4 keys).

You can look at the back of the units: if you have a parallel
port, then its a Classic; if you have USB ports, then its either
an mPower or an Apex. But you can distinguish between Apex and
others because Apex is thinner.
