The reason the numbers are on one line and the words and sentences are on a
different line may be because the students are pressing the enter key after
each number instead of the space key.
In braille, paragraphs are always supposed to begin in cell 3. The end of
the previous paragraph is a new line and the beginning of the next paragraph
is in cell 3. If the paragraphs begin in cell 3, you should be able to know
when a new paragraph begins.
The Apex's default settings for braille paragraphs should be set to new line
followed by two spaces.
Braille paragraphs always have only one new line between them. Unlike print
paragraphs, they should never begin at the margin and they never have a
blank line between them.
The default settings for print paragraphs depends on what the sighted
teachers require. When a braille document is translated into print, the
backtranslation defaults should be set so the document will automatically be
formatted for the print style paragraphs.

The BNs are relatively new and the kids are changing settings. So I am
