Hi, Sharon,
If your student changes the language and braille code to Spanish, and eight
dot braille is turned on, then the accents will show in the Spanish 8 dot
braille. The a acute would show as dots 1,2,3,5,6,8. All the accute
accented letters have dot 8 added to them. The numbers will be different
using this code. For example, the number 1 would be 3,4,5,6-1,6. All the
numbers use the number sign and all of the numbers have dot 6 added to them.
But if you keep the language and braille code english, then the unicode
character he/she assigns will only appear in computer braille when the
cursor is on the word containing the symbol.

Subject: [Braillenote] Apex and Assigning Unicode Characters
Hello,
Thanks for assisting my student and myself to assigning dot combinations
to
Unicode characters. It was noticed that when using an Apex QT with a 32
cell
braille display, once the dot combination has been assigned, the dot
combination appears only when the cursor is directly over the word in
question; otherwise, the dot 4 (accent mark) and the corresponding letter
appear. For example' accent a appears as dots (1, 2, 3, 5 6) which is the
correct dot combination only when the cursor is directly over the
particular
word containing the accented letter; otherwise, it appears as dot 4 and an
a. I have the student changing to computer braille in the document. Any
assistance would be greatly appreciated to figure this out.
Sharon
