Hi,
Sounds like formatting from the original file. Have you asked
someone to open the original PDF to see if it can be read on a
PC, or have you tried opening the PDF on your PC (if you have
one) to get some text from it?

Were you able to get some understandable text characters? If not,
then its a formatting problem on the source's end.
