Hi Jenny, I think there was a problem with the original Apex cases. I suggest you contact your local Humanware person and ask them about it. I have had no issues with my case but I don't use it for GPS. There has been a couple of times I have needed to remove my Apex from the case when I was having issues with the battery and it wasn't easy to get it out of the case. I seem to remember people on this list saying they had problems with the case that their Apex came in and when they talked to humanware about it they got sent a replacement case because the first design had major issues with staying closed.
