Hi Jessica, while it doesn't sound very intuitive, I believe that in fact leaving any BrailleNote on and allowing it to enter the hibernate mode will draw exactly the same amount of power as if the unit were switched off. Even if you switch off the power, the BrailleNote simply goes into a sleep mode. While in this mode it can still be woken up by things, the main one being alarms, and background processes still run. To truly "turn off" the BrailleNote so that no power is used, you'd want to put the BrailleNote into sleep mode, which on the Apex can be done through the Utilities/Miscellaneous menu, and on the mPower in the Support Information Mode.

Best,

Grant

Actually, Any type of bn will shut down after 10 minutes of not
being used. It is not just the apex that does this. Also it will
only shut down if it is battery powered. Plugging in the ac
adapter disables the shut off timer and the bn will just stay on.

Hi listers.
When I take my apex off the charger at night, it drains to about
87 percent.
Why is this?
And how could I stop it.
Thanks.
