Dear Andy, I have bought adaptive equipment and paid for it myself because I'm not elligible for help from VR. I took it all off as a medical expense from my income tax. I have an Enrolled Agent who does my taxes and she's a crackerjack tax person. So I don't see anything wrong with taking the BN or any other adaptive piece of equipment off as a medical expense. I'll accept whatever deductions I'm entitled to.
