What makes you sure it isn't reporting correctly?
The manual never does say what the battery voltage should be, but it does give
as an example a different voltage.
I quote from section 2.5.1 on support information mode:
"11) To display the cell voltage of the battery, press V. For example:
"Cell voltage 1.5 Volts"
After executing this command you are returned to the Support
Information mode.
To return to the place where you selected the Options menu, press SPACE with
E."
Maybe I should be concerned, mine reports 1.2 volts.
