Hi all,
Karen, when you look at the compactflash, or any drive for that
matter, sometimes it will say none. I couldn't figure out what this
was the first couple of times I saw it, but what it is, is the root
directory. Excuse my terminology, but you're talking to an old DOS
user and a linuxer. That is where the files I mentioned are. When it
asks you for a folder, type in 'none', and you'll see it. Don't type
the apostrophes though.
the 'none' option is equivalent to / in Linux or a:\ in DOS. It
should actually be labeled root, not 'none' which is confusing. I'm
for calling things by their right names. Root is more accurate and is
the correct term for what is meant. Now if you tell me that ordinary
users can't understand the term root, my response to that is simply
that if they can learn export and import and ASCII and the differences
between txt and doc and kwb files, they can learn the term root to
refer to the initial space on a storage device which is above the
folders.
