Hi,
When the confirmation message comes up which asks if the user wants to install
the database, what happens when they say yes? The database might re-install
itself from the beginning again. Although the previous data would be lost, the
database should work fine. The address list database which is used is actually
on the Flash Disk, and it is called "Address List". When the address list
database is created, an associated file called Address List.cdb. The file I
previously mentioned is a KeyList definition file, so you might have to go into
a view which only shows KeyList definition files if you want to make definitely
sure it's there when you're looking in a list of files. Also, the file with
the cdb extension is a "hidden file", so to make sure it's there, you have to
go into the File Manager and then Directory. When you're in the KeyList folder
(the one on the Flash Disk), get to the view which says "List of all, including
hidden files in Flash Disk/KeyList.was This will determine if, in fact, both
the KeyList definition file "address List" and the cdb extenSion file "Address
List" are indeed present. If the files are there, and they are not working,
the student should try a reset with no keys held down; if it still doesn't
work, they should try the other types of resets, with the "hardest" reset being
the last one. If the student has a backup, the files can be restored from
here. Re-installing KeySoft 5 might also restore the files the user is
missing. You can also call your nearest Pulse Data office, and request that
the files be sent to the user via email. The user could then receive the email
using the BrailleNote, and copy the necessary files into the appropriate
folders on their BN off the email. Hope this helps.
Maria
