Dear Terry, When I'm brailling by hand, I prefer using a brailler to a slate.
When I started using a PC in 1991, I became comfortable with the QT keyboard. And when I used the Keynote Companion, I was a fan of the QT keyboard for notetakers, too. The commands are very similar between the Companions and the BrailleNotes/VoiceNotes so the learning curve was easy. I think you would have loved the Braille Companion and the knowledge would have helped you learn the BN's commands. I think you're doing well, so keep up the good work.
