Hi, The transcriber's course has 20 lessons. It starts at the beginning with grade I braille. All of the braille rules must be followed exactly. If you make more than 3 mistakes, you must do the lesson again. You must have the exact cells per line, at first, it's 38 and then it changes to 40. If you are brailling with a Perkins brailler or board slate and stylus, no erasures are allowed. Every cell possible in a line is to be used, so you must hyphenate words and know when and where to hyphenate. If you use a PC and embosser, the lesson must be embossed correctly or you do it over. Your lessons will get lost in the mail, so when you hear nothing from your teacher, you must find out what happened to it. If the lesson never arrived, you must do it again.
