Hi, Dianne. I, too, have a BT 32 with 5.1. I've had my unit about a year, and
love it! When I got it, my intent was just to use it as a Braille display
notetaker. I'd had a speech only notetaker and was finding it difficult to
talk with clients, take notes, remember what I'd written down, and follow the
thread of the conversation. A good, easy to read Braille display became
essential to my job. I have a desktop PC so the notetaker was to be a
companion, but not a replacement for it.
The BrailleNote has done all that for me and more. I can carry it easily,
take and read notes while on home visits, and print out copies of my contact
notes for coworkers and case files. I have far more memory than my other
notetaker and backing up files is much, much easier and quicker. However, it
has done much more. The bonuses include reading books on the bus without using
earphones, reading the bulletin during church services, downloading email from
my server and reading and answering it on the bus or from the comfort of my
rocker, reading words to songs with one hand while playing an accompaniment
instrument
with the other, etc. etc. etc. I still use my desktop for most internet
access, playing free cell, and, sometimes for email, but I find my BN really
does most of what I need on a day to day basis. I know this post is a little
late compared to when you sent your original question, but I hope this
information is helpful.
God bless!
