The ridge should be the last thing to go in. It does stick out just a bit.
The holes for the pins are on the other end of the card away from the ridge.

Okay--should the little ridge be placed so that it goes entirely inside
the unit, the first thing to go in, or does it end up sticking/facing out
(as much as it can)--the last thing to go in? Can you still feel the
little ridge when the card is inserted all the way in?
And where do you get one of the adapters to which you refer?

Make sure the flash card has the little ridge facing down. It's possible
to damage the card slot by forcing it in upside down. You can use either
slot for the flash card as long as you have a PCMCIA adapter for the right
side slot.

Where does the flash card go in the BrailleNote? Does it go in the back
where the WiFi card also goes? Which way does it face? When I try to push
the card into that slot, it simply won't go in. The WiFi card will; the
Flash won't. Any suggestions?
