What a mess! The original message was just full of all sorts of strange
characters and meaningless letters. As soon as I hit "Reply" everything
went away and I could read the message easily. There is a leftover comma
just before the word "Won't". Could that have something to do with it?

Won't simply pressing e-chord work in the newer models until the system
prompts you for a yes or no answer as to whether or not you want the modem
to remain connected? That's what I do. Of course, I haven't upgraded yet,
because I'm happy with my system the way it is.
