Lisa,

I'm using a Voice Note and am running version 5.00. I have been logging onto
bookshare with no problems for two years. I just logged off of Bookshare with
another book as a matter of fact. Maybe if I tell you what I do, it will help.
I'll assume that you have already chosen the bookshare address in your my
favorites folder, hit return, and bookshare has come up. At that point hit the
letter l until the sysstem says log-in. Hit return there, so it will link to
the log-in place. It will take a few seconds to link. After it does, the
easiest way I have found to get in for me is to go to the bottom of the page
and use chord dot one to move up until I see the text of my email address
already entered. Do not hit return there. Move over until you find password
and the text entry prompt. I like to use chord dot five to check this area
out. I enter my password where it requests its text, and then I hit return.
The voice note says "click," when I do that there. At that poi!
nt you should be logged in, although no prompt comes back saying so. If you
really want to know for sure, the trick I use is to go to the bottom instead of
spacing through all that junk and use dot one chord to move up until I find
that line that says that I'm already logged into bookshare and to please use
the links below. I always think Voice Note sounds annoyed at this point.
(grin.). Then I use my space bar and go along to where I want to be. It took
me a while to figure out how to be sure I was logged on when I first went on.
Of course, there's one problem. I never tried before I registered and paid.
Hopefully, my discription of what I do helps you.
Now after you've downloaded your book and it's in your download folder, the
system will tell you that the book has been successfully downloaded. Use a b
pressed with the return key to get out of that nowhere land that it leaves you
in with no text. That will take you back to whatever list you were looking at.
Hit l until the system says log-off; then hit return. Use e chords until the
system asks you if you want the modem to stay connected.
