Hi listers!
Has anyone else noticed that when downloading email it sometimes takes a
longer period of time to receive, say, the first message and then things
seem to speed up?
Second, I must say that having used the Braillenote on regular dial-up,
with a broad band connection, and with a cell phone, receiving email is
not aided as much as one might imagine when using a broad band
connection.
Thanks.

Hi Laura,

I, for one, have hundreds of messages to go through everyday, so I must
delete what isn't important to me at this time. As I use the BN more, I
will probably be asking about email and internet browsing. I did read
the
messages about keysoft 5.1, and I am one who asked about downloading it
after you did. However, as I said at the time, I don't download
directly to
the BN, having never used it on the internet and having a good fast PC
right
here. All the directions for downloading that I had read dealt with
downloading directly to the braille note, and I wanted to know about
using
the PC and transferring it onto the BN. I'm very sorry if my message
seemed
redundant.

Subject: [Braillenote] a general reminder

Hi list:

I would just like to remind everyone that is a very good idea to read
every
message, even if you do not believe the subject pertains to you. This
should happen for two reasons:

1. A few times people forget (whether unintentionally or out of
laziness)
to change the subject line, so the material in the message could be of
utmost importance to you.

2. Lately there have been quite a few repeated questions on things that
have very recently been answered. There are quite a few people out here
willing to take their time to give detailed and diligent answers.
Asking
the same questions even within a half day of someone else underminds
these
people's time and effort, and may make them more reluctant to do the
same in
the future. For instance, I recently asked for instructions on how to
download build 22, and Jerry sent a very informative email to the list.
Yet, within a few hours, two more people have requested the same thing.

I am NOT a moderator, just conscious of the time of myself and others.
I am
just asking that you give them equal consideration. Laura
