I got software with my card reader, but I didn't have to install it. The sales person at Circuit City said that they give you the disk in case you are using Windows 98. Windows 2000 or xp should pick up the reader automatically. I have put min on a 200 machine and an xp machine, and it has worked fine without installing anything.
