I appreciate this info and yes I did mis-speak type pounds instead of Francs.
My daughter would beat me for that one, but than again she is becoming a
Francophile, grin.
thank you!

Maria,
This is exactly what I am looking for. Several of the people I train in the
use of the BrailleNote like to use the planner for this, and it will definitely
work. Thanks.
Keith

BRETT and Keith,
Brett, the Degree sign is ASCII character 176 and in the Latin 1 Supplement
Unicode table. The Section Sign is ASCII 167 and in the Latin 1 Supplement
Unicode Table. The Paragraph Separator is ASCII 8233 and in the General
Punctuation Unicode Table. Someone said that dot 4, followed by dots 3-4-5 was
the check mark; this isn't true because it's the "greater-than" symbol. I
haven't been able to find it in the Unicode Tables. Why not use a star
instead, which is produced in Grade 2 by pressing dots 3-5 twice. I don't know
what you mean by the "French pound sign in U.S. units". The French Franc sign
is ASCII 8355 and in the Currency Symbols Unicode Table. The Star is ASCII 42
and in the Basic Latin Unicode Tables. I was suggesting the Star earlier
because it has a Grade 2 equivalent. Since you have a BT unit, your Planner is
a Braille file. Unicode characters can only be entered in Text documents, so
having a Grade 2 equivalent avoids the necessity of changing to Computer
Braille with BACKSPACE with J to enter the Unicode Character and then switching
back to Grade 2 with BACKSPACE with B to type in your task. Look up Extended
Characters Topics in the Index of your User Guide to read about Unicode
Character Entry.
Keith, I have a suggestion which will make the Planner a To-Do List as you want
it to be, and you will be able to move between and delete sentences. Your
first step is to schedule an All Day appointment which could be called
something like "Today's Tasks". Now, after the appointment is scheduled, your
cursor should be on a Time line (which will read "All Day" in this case). If
you wanted to do this at a later time than after the initial scheduling of the
appointment, note that your cursor will be at the top of the day when you enter
the Planner, and you will have to put the cursor on the Time line by advancing
your Braille display until the words "All Day" are visible and then pressing
one of the touch cursor buttons above any of the cells occupied by those words
to place the cursor on the line; you will notice that the cursor extends to the
entire two words "All Day". Now, with your cursor on the Time line, press
ENTER. You are in the Notes field (you won't see the word "Notes", but you are
there). Type in your sentences as you used to do before version 5.1. When
you're finished, you can exit the Planner, and everything will be saved. Later
in the day, when you want to delete a certain sentence, go back into the
Planner. Put your cursor anywhere in your Notes. You will notice that the
SPACE with dots 1-2-3 and SPACE with dots 4-5-6 commands move you to the top
and bottom of the Notes, as opposed to the top and bottom of the current day as
would be the case if your cursor was on the appointment itself. Similarly, the
SPACE with dot 1, SPACE with dots 1-4, and SPACE with dot 4 commands move you
between sentences as opposed to appointments. If you want to delete a
particular sentence, make sure your cursor is at the beginning of that
sentence. Press BACKSPACE with dots 1-4. Instead of being prompted to cancel
an appointment, you'll get the prompt "Delete to end of sentence? Sure?".
Press Y to confirm, and your sentence is deleted. BTW, if you canceled an
appointment with Notes, both the appointment and Notes would be deleted.
HTH.
Maria
