It's hard to say from a picture. but I'd guess the bigger one presses the piston towards the pump end. Think about how it works and there's likely only one way it goes. The magnet pulls the piston back allowing a bit of water in front of it, then the spring, likely the big one pushes the piston back closing off that access and pushing the water out past what should be a 1 way valve. It's possible the white ring goes on the piston and the soft spring holds it there, that might be the one way valve. Just be careful and make sure you're not breaking anything. I'm assuming the brass side is the outlet, if not tell me and I'll re-think what I said.
