Hey Josh,
As a reminder, if you tighten the tip down, even finger tight, while the
machine/wand is hot, it will be hard to get off when the machine is cold.
Just put steam through the tip for 10 seconds or so, and heat it up. I then
use one of those silicone hot pads to take it off‹the pad is grippy, and
also insulates from the heat.

But echoing everyone else, finger-tight only! I almost wonder if you have a
burr on the thread of the tip‹that may be causing the problem. Run your
fingernail around all the threads and see if they seem smooth and
continuous. As someone else said, you may need a new tip as well. If you
have a burr, you may have trashed the thread on the new wand also‹but WLL
will probably replace both if you find the burr. Otherwise, find a friend
with a tap and die set, and ³chase² the threads‹that will clean them up and
remove any burrs.

Best,
bmc

If you have it on so tight that pliers didn't work, the question might be,
what did you use to put it ON? I personally never use anything stronger than
my fingers. I used a small Y-wrench on my Siliva steam tip when I first had
it, and quickly split the end of the rod. Since then, finger tight only.
Aides with removal also. You might just need a new tip at this point too,
and be more careful next time!
