Todd, My Expobar office lever also trips my ground fault, usually after 20 seconds. Is there any way to tell whether an element problem versus the control board?

So in other words the original diagnosis still stands. There is a most likely a short to ground in the wiring system inside the machine. Sorry I can't give better news. Seems like the problem is in the water level sensor. Any ideas? Thanks james On Monday, 22 October 2012 17:28:41 UTC+11, jimmy fingers wrote: Thanks Todd. I am the least electrically capable person around. Might go and talk to my service guy ;) thanks! james On Sunday, 21 October 2012 09:55:28 UTC+11, Todd Salzman wrote: HI James, I believe you said that, as soon as you turn on the machine the main circuit breaker trips. If I am hearing your correctly then it sounds like you have a "dead short to ground" and if this is the case then there is not much you do about it yourself, unless you are very mechanical and have the proper tools or want to go out and purchase them. It is probably a bad heating element but of course I can't be sure. The easiest way to check the heating element using an Ohm meter to see if there is any continuity to ground. If this is something you want to take on your self I'll do my best to help. Todd Whole Latte Love On Fri, Oct 19, 2012 at 8:37 AM, james saretta <[email protected]> wrote: Any help would be great. It's actually the safety switch in my house's power board. The machine doesn't even come on. I turn it on - fuse blows in the power box. I reset the fuse...repeat. I'll check out Merlynn's advice. More to come! james On Thursday, 27 September 2012 21:35:28 UTC+10, Todd Salzman wrote: Hello James, For a proper diagnosis can you tell me more about what is happening. 1. Does the steam boiler heat up as normal? 2. Which safety switch is tripping and are you talking about the one on top of the boiler? 3. Does the brew boiler heat up? 4. How long does it take for the safety switch to trip? 5. Does the digital display give the temperature as normal? Any other notes you want to add would be great. Whole Latte Love shipped it out, and we installed it ourselves. My first generation brewtus is suddenly setting of a safety switch every time I turn it on. It's the second time it has happened. The first time I had it serviced and repaired which cost me about $500! Now it is happening again. Any ideas what I can check for?
