Hi Ira,
Guess what? I just got lucky!!

So, me wiring the wrong way just fired 240volt though the switch which made
it short. Thinking I have nothing to loose I forced the clear casing off
the switch and found that the connector was "mildly" shorted and I popped
the connection apart easy. So I cleaned the carbonated side (K2) up with
some fine sand paper and re-assembled. Plugged it all back together and.....

Yeeehaaawww, I have one fully operational B2. Get in!

I suspect that the carbonated connector was being hit and miss on the steam
boiler and so a bit of heat just made it all stop working, While I've fired
it all up and let the brew boiler reach operating temp with all things
running, only a full day's worth of being on will tell but I am optamistic
to say the least.

Sorry to pester you, seems I got lucky with the reversing of the control
unit and like you say, it's not damaged. nothing melted. Bonza!

Will report back when I'm sure it's all ok. and if it works, I can
recommend a check on the control unit to any one who's steam boiler is not
auto filling that hopefully will save them a good 150 dollars or 80 quid
over here!

An extra point to note, my pressure release valve, the one that gugles and
pops after turning on probs needs a bit of cleaning up, Will do that soon
but needless to say it releases a bit of steam/pressure slowly during the
day, and my steam boiler would buzz in every hour or so to top up, this
constant buzzing of the relay is likely the cause of carbonation over time
and what eventually stopped the relay working reliably. It just needs
cleaning up and all back to normal.

Mike.
