I am in South Africa and know the local agents pretty well, I had a leak where the element was screwed into the steam boiler and figured while it was out they may as well replace it with a larger one. I believe that the one they used was from a Wega machine. I asked them to check the wiring would handle it and they said it would not be a problem.
Expobar in Australia spec the Brewtus (called the Expobar Minore III there) with 2000 watt elements as standard so I would guess the electrics can handle it (my machine does anyway) http://expobaraustralia.com.au/index/modules/load/Catalogue/page/coffee_machines/category_id/7/menu/2/product_id/82 Not sure who you could get it from in Europe but would not think that it would be that difficult to get hold off.
