Hi, My four-year-old Brewtus II has a problem that began yesterday and continues today.
When I pull a shot, the pump acts and sounds normal in pre-infusion, then, as the full shot starts, the pump pressure rises to 9.5 bars as usual, but after 2-3 seconds the pump seems to "give out." Pressure falls to about 2-3 bars, and the sound of the pump (normally fairly loud) goes quiet---not silent, but much quieter, indicating an obvious malfunction. If I switch off the Brewtus for five minutes, then turn it back on, the pump operates normally to refill the boiler or run water through the head, but if I try to pull a shot, same sequence of failure. Starts out OK, then fails. I'm hoping that the pump has just given out, since I already have a backup pump/valve assembly and know how it install it from pressure valve issues a couple years ago. Before I take on the effort of that one-hour job, however, I thought it prudent to check in here to see if someone troubleshoots this problem differently. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Brewtus" group.
