Thanks for the interest in my question.

Here's a bit more detail to clarify what's going on.

The brew boiler is of course filled up with the steam boiler. The steam
boiler should be very hot so if all you are doing is pulling shots, the
brew boiler gets filled with the very hot water from the steam boiler. One
would think that you could pull several shots then without the brew boiler
temperature dropping. In fact, this is how my Brewtus did once operate.
Now, if you make an Americano or two in between, you would be pulling cold
water into the steam boiler. Not only does that cold water need to be
heated up, but the brew boiler will not be on when the steam boiler is
heating. So, if you pull another shot in that sequence, it would make sense
that the brew temperature could fall quicker than expected.

That isn't the case with me. Even if I do *not* draw any water from the hot
water wand (steam boiler), my brew boiler temperature can easily drop a
degree celsius after only one 25-30 second shot. At first I thought this
was due to the faulty vacuum relief valve. This would result in the steam
boiler not being as hot as it is supposed to so the water filling the brew
boiler (from the steam boiler) would also not be as hot.

Well, I did successfully replace the vacuum relief valve. It no longer
leaks or hisses. So, I would think the steam boiler is full of very hot
water. I would also think that if I pull a shot from the brew head, the
brew boiler would be filled with that very hot water from the steam boiler.

If this makes sense so far....then why does my brew temperature drop so
quickly after only one shot? If I try to pull two shots back to back, the
brew temperature can easily drop from 96C to 94C.
