I would avoid turning it off. Unless you are away and not using it for a while. Here is the thing. The heaters have to go full tilt to heat cold water. When you leave it on you get less expansion and contraction. It is more stable. Then we have the problem of the unprotected board getting heat all the time ( I put some foil in front of it to help). Interested to see what others thing. But for me keeping it stable hot is better than keep changing the temperature.
