Judge, Huge bang indeed! I didn't hear the bang when the pressure release valve triggered but it mus have been violent. I had some cups on top of the machine and they were thrown off and smashed. Here's the funniest thing. Although I didn't hear it, my son did. He said "yeah, I was wondering what that loud bang was.". I love him the same.
So, being in reconstruction mode, I decided to upgrade. I never had a sink beside my machine so I put in a sink. I also replaced the countertop with a really nice looking granite countertop. And, rather than the hack job of plumbing it in that I did, I had a plumber do it. It looks so much nicer. Having a sink right there is wonderful. The only way I could rinse portafilters etc was through the brew head. I'd like to think the coffee tastes better too.
