Man, I can't tell you how much I appreciated hearing that, right after I got off of an unsatisfying phone call with WLL. The tech really just reiterated that it might be a failing heating element causing a bit of extra current to go into the heating, otherwise he spoke to the inferiority of the controller design and that I should just buy the new PID conversion so I don't have to guess. I wonder if this means the old controller is still fine? Will definitely hang onto it, because these surely aren't getting easier to find. I pulled a shot and filmed it, not a crema heavy bean but the drink tasted basically the same as what I get out of my Vetrano 2B.
But what do you make of the pump sound? http://youtu.be/wYXOiBWETBA Sure would be nice to have that pump pressure gauge. I do also have a portafilter mounted pressure gauge I could test with, but I wonder if this means the pump is on its way out, or no big deal in your experiences.
