Anyone who has ever descaled their Brewtus will tell you that is absolutely not true. I let mine go for 2 (errr... okay, maybe it was more like 3.5) years before doing the last descaling and the amount of hard green scale flakes that come out of the top was alarming. (and the green water)
Benjamin, before you remove the boiler, have you tried draining it and following the usual descaling procedure? Does some steam escape from the hot water tap when the valve is open, or nothing at all?
