Hey Jeff, I assume you meant "not needing to de-scale" is what is "absolutely not true". Fully agree.
As to your question for me--nothing comes out. I never use the hot water wand and would just dump the boiler through it 2-3 times each week or two to reduce mineral content in the boiler, and one time it just stopped flowing. Hasn't flowed or steamed since. The steam wand does indeed see daily service and works fine. I do know that all is clear from the valve onward; I can even have the valve removed and it will hold pressure (not that I do this regularly!). But I did once crack the mounting nut for the valve with the unit at temp just to see if it would steam and it did not--totally sealed. I have not done a descale in a while, but that didn't impact it either. I am just pretty convinced that the line is blocked at the bottom of the boiler, but next step will be to open that line when the unit is cold; low priority since I don't use the water wand. Can you imagine what the TDS in the boiler is by now? :) Anyway... best, bmc Sent from my apple IIe > On Mar 25, 2015, at 17:51, xtype <[email protected]> wrote: > > Anyone who has ever descaled their Brewtus will tell you that is absolutely > not true. > I let mine go for 2 (errr... okay, maybe it was more like 3.5) years before > doing the last descaling and the amount of hard green scale flakes that come > out of the top was alarming.
